About

create – there is no other way

We all, and I repeat, all create.  Daily.  In every moment.  And, as creative beings we get to choose what we create:  a better life, inventive art, abundance – or lack thereof, and peace.

a human being – not a human doing

Defining yourself by education or degree title, your job or other people’s opinions of who they think you are has always made me rebel.  I do many things but I am still me -  a creative being who struggles to remain free and untethered to the brief description of “working mom, single with three kids”.  We are all so much more than that.  I am and so are you.

about me

My name is Pamela Brackett and I am one of those people you might call a multi-potentialite – meaning I delve into many aspects of life by generating my income as a graphic designer, an artist and ardent crafter, a member of the growing indie-business entrepreneurs and a grateful, creative being walking around in this generous Universe.

I am also the proud mother of three of the most “live out loud” children you would ever have the pleasure of getting to know and  I am currently in the middle of transitioning from a “punch the clock”  job to working full time from home.

many interests = many work experiences

I have 25+  years experience in graphic design, marketing and branding (want to see my Addys?) and in my years of sitting in on brainstorming meetings and managing some pretty amazing clients’ branding and marketing, I eventually settled into a freelance career that has lasted over 15 years.

I have a degree in fine art from Mercer University and taught art and graphic design at the high school level in an inner city public school.  It was the best and worst job I ever had the pleasure of experiencing.   The students and teaching were amazing – they taught me as much as I taught them. To say my life and understand of it deepened during those years is an understatement.

I also have a degree in nursing and worked with adult mental health patients and others dealing with addiction issues.  I love nursing and counseling with them.  I realized  that nursing is a lot like teaching and reveled in those “teachable moments” when you could see a patient’s (or student’s) eyes light up with recognition of something new they could relate to.  Magical moments.
